MSBAI Secures SummitPLUS Allocation at OLCF
April 30, 2024
MSBAI has been awarded a prestigious allocation of 75,000 node hours from the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility’s (OLCF) SummitPLUS program. This grant will fuel our ambitious Artificial Intelligence research project titled ‘Autonomously Driven Software – Pursuit of Level 4 Autonomy.’ The initiative aims to harness the immense computational power of Summit, OLCF’s flagship supercomputer, to achieve next level autonomy for driving expert software that is hard to learn and cumbersome to use.
Empowering Collaboration and Advancement
OLCF’s SummitPLUS program, launched in late 2023, expands access to their flagship supercomputer, Summit, for a broader range of scientific and research applications. By providing additional compute time on Summit, OLCF endeavors to foster collaboration among researchers from academia, industry, and government sectors. The program’s overarching goals include accelerating advancements in open science and high-performance computing, driving innovation across diverse scientific domains such as climate modeling, materials science, and energy research.
Unleashing the Potential of AI with GURU
At the heart of MSBAI’s research lies our revolutionary GURU system, a powerful AI platform designed to streamline simulation setup processes. Unlike traditional methods that take hours to set up, GURU leverages ‘hierarchical planning’ to perform work reliably in mere minutes. Moreover, its user-friendly interface ensures accessibility across various devices, from laptops to smartphones and VR headsets. With Summit’s formidable hardware capabilities, including GPUs and fast interconnects, MSBAI aims to push the boundaries of AI-driven software development, promising transformative outcomes for the scientific community.
